Which Cabinet First?

The precursor to the modern museum is what was known as a "cabinet of curiosities". A collector would compile a set of strange, mysterious, or interesting objects to keep in their home and often share with guests.

These small cabinets soon became entire halls dedicated to the collection of natural history and human oddities. They may not be organized in the way we understand museums today, but the people of the time understood the method behind the madness.
