a Demonathon Adventure
The Exhibition
As you approach the Exhibition, an icy cold breeze flies past you, bringing with it the smell of old books, expired perfumes, dust, herbal medicine, and something that reminds you of stone. You shiver and continue down the hall, following signs that say "This Way".
Many other summoners are in this foyer, looking around the room at small trinkets and bits of paper that seem like they may disintegrate if they were touched. You're curious about all of them, but the big statue in the middle of the circular room catches your eye first. It is obviously some kind of demon, posing as if climbing up a mountain, with one arm curled up towards the sky and the other holding a heavy bag filled with all kinds of things. You take a closer look at the bag. Inside are skulls, miniature statues of other demons, books and scrolls, bundles of grain and flowers, bottles of all shapes and sizes, weapons, navigation instruments, jewels, and of course coins.
As you stare, you notice that beneath the bag and the demon's feet is not earth like you thought. It's piles of splintered wood. You walk over to the plaque and read:
In honor of those who returned stolen relics to their rightful homes,
and whose cause echoes in these halls.
All plundered treasure is cursed to the thief.
You take another look at the bag and at the demon who seems as if they have conquered the pile of smashed wood. You wonder what happened, but you think you understand. Even demons must have had things stolen from them over the eons.
Your demon taps your shoulder and points to your left. There are many different halls that lead to various exhibitions, you notice one of the halls is hidden behind a giant set of dark wood doors, intricately carved and polished until it shone. In front of the door, a couple of goblins are standing on each other, and setting up a metal sign that says, "LibRaRy OpEN" in fresh, dripping paint. You're not sure if the Disappearing Library IS open or not, but if it isn't perhaps you could help?
